    Karraginaanid: Karraginaanid -ka karrageenid- on perekond sulfaatrühmi sisaldavaid polüsahhariide, mida saadakse punavetikatelt -Rhodophyceae-. Karraginaane teatakse üle 15 eri varieteedi, mis erinevad omavahel sulfaadituse määra ja sulfaatrühmade asetuse pooles molekulis. Kommertsiaalselt levinuimateks karraginaanideks on κ-, ι-, λ-karraginaan. Eestis toodetakse karraginaani -furtsellaraan- agarikust ning punavetikast Coccotylus truncatus.
